Unlock Precision Performance Monitoring with the MHD S58 Monitor License
The MHD Flasher F+G Series represents a significant leap forward in ECU tuning for BMW and Toyota A90 vehicles. Unlike less sophisticated piggyback modules, MHD delivers complete DME remapping, ensuring optimal performance gains while rigorously maintaining all factory safety protocols. This approach guarantees not only maximum power but also exceptional safety and unparalleled drivability for your vehicle.
Installation of the MHD system is designed for ease of use, allowing you to initiate tuning directly from your home. By simply downloading the MHD Flasher F+G Series app on your Apple iOS or Android device and connecting via the MHD Wireless Adapter to your car’s OBD-II port, you can begin the tuning process. The initial setup completes in just about 3.5 minutes, with subsequent map adjustments taking a mere 20 seconds. Furthermore, reverting your vehicle back to its original factory settings is straightforward and can be done at any time, without the need for an initial backup.
Within the comprehensive MHD ecosystem, the Super Licence unlocks the full spectrum of MHD functionalities. Among these powerful tools, the Monitor License stands out as an essential component for enthusiasts and performance tuners alike.
The Monitor License is specifically engineered to provide you with in-depth insights into your engine’s operational behavior. It ensures your engine is performing optimally by offering a highly responsive and customizable gauge interface. You can configure up to eight fully adjustable gauges, allowing you to simultaneously monitor over 50 critical engine parameters. This real-time data is not only displayed at a glance but is also continuously logged in the background.
Activating the logging mode enables the system to save data into a standard CSV file. This feature is invaluable for detailed post-drive analysis using the integrated log viewer. For users seeking expert insights, MHD also provides complimentary log analysis services, helping you to interpret the data and further refine your vehicle’s performance.
The array of parameters available for monitoring is extensive, covering everything from fundamental metrics to advanced engine dynamics:
- Boost and Boost Target: Keep a close watch on your turbocharger’s performance and ensure it’s hitting target boost levels.
- Lambda (AFR – Air Fuel Ratio): Monitor the critical balance of air and fuel in your engine for optimal combustion and safety.
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT): Crucial for understanding the efficiency of your intake system and potential heat soak issues.
- Ignition Timing per Cylinder: Essential for detecting and preventing knock or pre-ignition, safeguarding your engine.
- Coolant Temperature & Oil Temperature: Track vital fluid temperatures to ensure your engine is running within safe thermal limits.
- Oil Pressure: Monitor oil pressure to confirm proper lubrication and prevent engine damage.
- Transmission Temperature: For vehicles with automatic transmissions, monitoring temperature is key to longevity and performance.
- High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP): Critical for ensuring adequate fuel delivery, especially under high demand.
- Throttle Position: Understand your throttle input and response.
- Wastegate Duty-Cycle (WGDC): Analyze turbocharger control and efficiency.
- RPM & Speed: Standard but essential parameters for overall vehicle monitoring.
- EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature): Monitor exhaust temperatures, especially important for turbocharged engines under load.
Beyond these standard readings, the MHD S58 Monitor License delves into advanced parameters that are typically hidden from standard BMW interfaces. Depending on your DME software version, and whether you have flashed with MHD, you can access sophisticated data such as:
- Timing Corrections per Cylinder: Detect and analyze knock correction activity in each cylinder, a vital indicator of engine health and tuning effectiveness.
- Boost Setpoint: Examine the desired boost level commanded by the ECU versus actual boost, useful for diagnosing boost discrepancies.
- Active Torque Limiters: Identify and understand torque intervention, helping to optimize tuning for maximum power delivery.
The Monitor License seamlessly integrates with the other components of the MHD Super Licence, including the Flasher License for ECU remapping and access to All MHD OTS (Off-The-Shelf) maps. While the Flasher License empowers you to load performance-enhancing maps and the OTS maps provide readily available tuning profiles for various modifications and fuel octanes, the Monitor License acts as your real-time diagnostic and performance analysis tool. It allows you to observe the direct effects of tuning changes, ensuring that your vehicle is operating safely and efficiently at all times.
The MHD OTS maps offer a range of performance stages for the S58 engine:
- Stage 1 (up to 670HP/800NM): Available in 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, and 95oct/102ron variants, suitable for stock vehicles and those with gasoline particulate filters.
- Stage 2 (up to 720HP/850NM): Available in the same octane ratings, designed for cars equipped with high-flow downpipes and without gasoline particulate filters.
- Ethanol Mix Maps (up to 750HP / 880NM): Stage 1 & 2 E30-40 Maps for ethanol blends of 30-40%, offering even higher performance potential.
The MHD Flasher F+G Series, including the crucial Monitor License, is compatible with a range of devices and adapters:
Supported Devices:
- Apple iOS 10.2 and higher
- Android 6 and higher (OTG compatible)
Supported Adapters / Cables (sold separately):
- MHD WIFI Adapter (Recommended for both iOS & Android for its wireless convenience and speed)
- ENET Cable + Lightning Adapter (Specifically for iOS devices)
Supported Cars (equipped with the S58 engine):
- BMW X3M F97 (2019 – Present)
- BMW X4M F98 (2019 – Present)
- BMW M3 G8x (2021 – Present)
- BMW M4 G82 (2021 – Present)
- BMW M2 G87 (2022 – Present)
Important Considerations:
Please be aware that BMWs with the latest software versions may require a DME bench unlock to enable OBD flashing, regardless of the production date. Vehicles produced after June 2020 may necessitate a special unlock performed by FEMTO in Finland due to enhanced tuning protection. In such cases, your DME needs to be sent to FEMTO for unlocking. MHD will automatically detect a FEMTO unlock if it has been performed. Flashing back to the stock OEM settings will fully remove any unlock, and re-flashing with MHD will require the DME to be unlocked again.
Disclaimer: For Off Road / Race Track Use Only. Not approved for use on public roads.
In conclusion, the MHD S58 Monitor License is an indispensable tool for anyone serious about tuning and maintaining their BMW S58 engine. It delivers unparalleled real-time engine data, comprehensive logging capabilities, and customizable displays, empowering you to optimize performance and ensure the longevity of your high-performance vehicle.
